Freedom Life is built upon five purposes God has revealed through Scripture, found in the following two verses:
THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT
“Love the Lord your God (worship) with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor (ministry) as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40
THE GREAT COMMISSION
“Go and make disciples (evangelism) of all nations, baptizing them (fellowship) in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to do (discipleship) everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20
These purposes have enabled us to define the reason we exist:
helping people experience the freedom and life that only God can offer!
FREEDOM LIFE MISSION
Loving God, Loving People & Loving Life!
FOUND PEOPLE FIND PEOPLE.
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost…” Luke 19:10
It’s impossible to love someone and not care about what they care about. Jesus cares about the lost, and the more time we spend with Jesus the more we’ll begin to care about those who are far from Him.
SAVED PEOPLE SERVE PEOPLE.
“... just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Matthew 20:28
Want to become more like Jesus? Focus more on serving others than on being served. The best way to improve our marriages, make a difference in our workplaces and discover our spiritual gifts is to serve those around us.
- YOU CAN'T OUTGIVE GOD.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
It is a spiritual impossibility for us to outgive God, because He has already given us everything. When we give, we’re giving God back a small portion of what He’s already given us.
- YOU CAN'T DO LIFE ALONE.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
Jesus didn’t do life alone. He brought His disciples everywhere. If the son of God didn’t do life alone, why would we? We need others who will challenge us and encourage us to take next steps. Find a group you can do life with. [Learn more about Small Groups.]
- GROWING PEOPLE CHANGE.
“Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.” Ephesians 4:24
The only way to experience the abundant life Jesus wants for us is to take our next step and experience Him in the process. The best way to discover your next step is to follow the Pathway of Purpose.
