Congratulations on your commitment to pray and fast for 21 days with Freedom Life! Michele & I are excited about what will occur over these next 21 days, and we are looking forward to seeing God move in our lives and the life of this church. We know that He will work in ways we could never imagine.
We will begin the church-wide fast together at lunchtime on Sunday, January 10th and conclude on Sunday, January 31st.
Together, we will take this journey. And together, we will go the distance to discover God’s plan. We declare that 2016 will be the Year where we Possess The Promise!
Simply stated, biblical fasting is refraining from food for a spiritual purpose. As a church, we are fasting in order to deepen our relationship with God and to walk in step with His plan and purpose. The best way to do this is to redirect our food source or something else of importance to us, such as media. This is accomplished through substituting our regular food intake with Bible reading, praying and journaling.
The overall goal is to experience a genuine hunger for spending time with God. According to the Bible, there are three duties of every Christian: give, pray, and fast. Fasting takes a lot of discipline and strength – strength you can only receive from God. Your private discipline will bring you rewards in Heaven, as stated in Matthew 6.
When you give God your first through fasting, prayer, and giving at the beginning of the year, you set the course for the entire year.

PRAYING THE PROMISES OF GOD
Knowing about God's promises does not make them come to pass. We must find God's promise in His Word, the Bible, and then receive it through humility, submission and prayer. The next steps include believing our promise, declaring and speaking our promise, meditating on it and accepting it. God's promise will be revealed in our lives as we are obedient to His Word and do what is pleasing in His sight.
Join us over the next 21 days as we discover the promises of God in Scripture and declare them in our lives. Click on the links below to follow along with our Possess the Promise devotionals.
